Description

What if, at the end of WW2, the superpowers didn't invent Atomic Bomb but superheroes ?

EDIT: forgot to mention the colour code:
RED= communist / soviet countries
BLUE: US + allies
DARK BLUE: European Union
GREY/WHITE: Non-aligned countries.

In 1941, an alien crashes in Kansas near the town of Smallville. Soon, mysterious people from Washington (soon known as the « DC people ») came and began to study the young alien boy. Hence, DC developped the first superheroes.

Another corporation, Marvel, developped its own corporations for the American Army, such as Captain Democracy, who went in Germany and defeated Hitler. In 1944, DC's Super AmazingGuy devastated Japan.

Superheroes meant 2 things in the post-WW2 world:

1) In the US, there were 2 companies who created superheroes: the national company DC Company and Marvel (a private company working for the Army). In 2008 Captain Democracy became President of the US.

2) In the USSR, the Soviets created their own program of superheroes. The main one was “Bearman”. Because of superheroes, the Cold War became a Hot War. The US or USSR had less qualms about fighting each other. They sent superheroes to fight for their ideals. This also meant more wars and more ideology. The USSR is more egalitarian and less racist than the US.

Recently, after wars in Asia, Australia, and South America, the new battlefield is Africa.

3) In France, Charles De Gaulle took advantage of superheroes to establish a dictatorship, with the help of Monsieur Bourbon or SuperMénagère.

4) The UK never developed superheroes. Most Windsors, though, were given superpowers to reaffirm the power of monarchy. (Yes. Queen Elizabeth is a superhero.)

5) Because of superheroes, racism and racial segregation is still important. Superheroes are mostly white. In South Africa, Mandela never existed. Instead, the racist regime collapsed because of Communist uprisings.

In 2016, the world is very different. It hasn't really changed since the 1950s. Racism and sexism is everywhere. The Cold War is still present, even though it's less important since 1990. In 1995, the US government cut the funding of superhero programs. This led Marvel to become a rogue and sinister company, developing its “Weapon X” in secret. Some superheroes began rebelling against the government, under the leadership of antihero Piscina de la Muerte.
